Works just fine
This is to balance all of the negative reviews I found here. After reading all of the problem reviews I was reluctant to try step three but I did. It worked just fine. No burning or problems. Guess what, I actually followed the directions. It says to water right away so I waited a few weeks until rain was near. One day I saw rain showers about an hour away so I put it down. I do horizontal passes then go back over with vertical passes so I use a bit more than directed. Three weeks later the lawn has a deeper green, not like the bright green of step one in the spring. I don't know what the other people did to have such bad problems but I had none of them. Maybe they didn't put it down before a rain shower or water it in. I don't know. Just don't take these few bad reviews as a consistent problem as it worked fine for me.

Beautiful lawn
I used the step 3 but by mistake I put the dial to my Scott rotary spreader on 2.5 instead of 3.5 . My lawn turned a beautiful green but I wanted it darker . It was then I noticed I had not used the correct setting I redid the lawn and it is a strikingly dark blue green color. Beautiful. I had cancelled lawn company called weed Man because they came out 3 times and never took care of the weeds and my lawn remained yellow . That's when I decided to use the Scott's step 3 program . I will never go with weed man again . For the cost of weed man I could easily buy more than what I need of Scott's products .

This product is the best one that I have used
I do not use just Step 3 Lawn Fertilizer, I use the whole Four Step Program. I have been using this, probably, since it first came out. I have nothing to say but great things about it. I have gotten nothing but complements about my lawn - no matter when I have lived. I recommend it to anyone who complements me or asks how I keep the lawn looking so great.
