Nuwave 18 oz Portable Blender for Shakes and Smoothies with 6-Piece-Blade for Crushing Ice and Fruit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try this blender. I am going to start out by saying it is pretty heavy. It is packaged very well in the box, so everything was well protected as I unpacked it. It also takes up a decent amount of space on your countertops. It is larger than your other style blenders. But I LOVE how big the top is for making large batches of stuff at a time. The first thing I made in it was a shake. My daughter gathered our vanilla ice cream while I prepared some fresh strawberries to go in it. I love the preset button features on this machine. It was so easy my 13-year-old could do it on her own. (she is now obsessed with it!) Of course, she left the clean up to me. It was super easy because the blender had a preset button for cleaning itself! You just add a little dish soap and water and turn it to the clean mode. It did a count down on its own, so you know when it is done. Then I rinsed out the container out and it was sparkly clean. The next thing we decided to try was making our own peanut butter. I could not believe how easy it was to put the items in and turn to the preset setting and in a matter of minutes we had our own version of healthy peanut butter. It was honestly just some peanuts and a little bit of salt. It was some of the creamiest peanut butter we ever had. I can't wait to try many other types of nut butters in it. We also tried some soup, it was a broccoli cheese soup. Even though it said it could make soup I was under the impression it just blended stuff down and you still had to pour it out and heat up the soup. But I was wrong! This machine grinds it all down and heats it up, when using the soup setting. I love that it has the plunger feature for pushing down larger things like peppers, apples or any other large things you are going to make something with. The other feature that is great is the one that lets you chop ice for things like blended drinks! We tried a sorbet the first time we crushed ice. It was quite a tasty treat on a hot day. The one thing I wish it came with was a better recipe book. I am a pretty picky eater so I wish it had more basic things you can make, such as shakes and sorbets. I did do a search for recipes and the Moxie Pro and was able to come up with some good ones to use. The lid is very easy to get on and off. The blades look like they are meant to last a long time. They are sharp so that is why I love the self-cleaning button, so I don't have to dig down in there to clean them. That is a great safety feature of this blender. The volume of it is maybe a tad louder than a normal blender but nothing that is bad. This blender is worth the investment. It will be around in my home for a long time.

It works wonders for making soups, salsas and my favorite, smoothies! The powerful blade chops through ice, frozen fruit and nuts easily and without breaking a sweat. It comes apart for easy clean up. Plan to keep this blender on your counter top as it is very large and hard to store.
