I got the VP05 model. I have seen 2 models, a VP06 and a VP06 , which are newer. But they also cost much more than what I paid. And mine has worked fine every time. I listened to some YouTube reviews. The main difference in the newer models is that you can easily tell when it is done by the sound of the motor. On mine, the motor changes sounds a little bit only. But I just give it 50 seconds to make sure, and turn it off. The display keeps track of the time. I am trying to avoid using plastic food storage because of all the plastic particles our bodies are ingesting. I have used plastic bags in the past and sucked out the air with a straw. This is much more effective and I assume healthier.

I buy spices in bulk sometimes cuz that's the only way I can find some of them. So I put some in smaller spice jars to fit in my cabinet and I bought this for the rest that I store in larger mason jars to store in my basement/wine cellar. Directions are easy to follow and the device is easy to use. It works with standard size jar lids and the smaller ones.
