I wish i had gotten this years ago ! True story ... Often during the winter months I park my van and settle into a large comfortable room I have built in my garage. It is very well insulated and the pellet stove I use seems much cheaper than running the furnace in the house. It has everything I need and I really enjoy being there. However ... with no good ventilation the room has always been stuffy and I get headaches and sinus issues. Plus the smoke from cooking and occasionally from the pellet stove seems to just linger in the room. Recently I purchased a Miko air purifier. I got it out and turned it on auto. Within seconds it went to 500 pm 2.5 which is the highest it can go and considered extremely hazardous. Anything above 150 is considered heavily polluted. I knew the air was bad but I had no clue how bad. After 30 minutes the air quality was 283 .. still hazardous .. but better. After running it for 1hr and the air quality was at 120 which is considered slightly polluted. I didn't get the photo but after 3hr and 10 minutes it was down to an amazing 47 which is considered excellent. It is now running at a lower speed and maintaining a number between 47-59. It kicks up higher when it needs to and works perfectly. I have battled respiratory issues and vocal chord issues for years. This is the room I sang in and spent 90% of my indoor time in .. I had no idea how negatively being in here was effecting my health. If you are thinking about getting an air purifier I strongly recommend the Miko brand Air Purifier. If you have respiratory issues it could be due to your air quality and this seemed like a small price to pay for improved health. I ordered mine through Walmart. It was $138.00 shipped and arrived at my door in 4 days. It's easy to use and requires pretty much no set up. Remove the plastic bag from the filter and plug it in. Possibly the smartest purchase I've ever made.
