My hair is significantly shinier, much softer and sleeker. It 100% looks and feels the way it does when you leave a nice salon.
I have long, thick, colour treated hair which is usually wavy, course and quite frizzy so have always straightened in the past to smooth it at least on the top and to mid length, even if I then curl it, which obviously is a lot of heat damage. I now however will not need to use my straighteners, as the flyaway attachment smooths it and gives it so much extra shine. You can also use the flyaway through the whole length of the hair and give a nice flick shape to the ends too.
It's extremely easy to use the attachments, especially the flyaway attachment - you don't have to do anything, it does all the work… ‘grabbing' the hair and holding it in place as you move the dryer, it genuinely only requires one hand. They attach magnetically so super simple to swap about for different stages of your drying/styling.
It's also really quiet, which is great when your household get up at different hours.
If you already have the Supersonic, I would say it is definitely worth buying the flyaway attachment to add to your set and it is worth the cost, which I feel is very affordable considering it gives a completely different element of styling, so it's like getting an entirely new ‘styling tool' for just the price of the additional attachment.
Personally, I find it nicer using the flyaway attachment on the cooler setting if you get frizz close to your roots like me, to avoid feeling heat on the scalp like you do no the hotter settings. If however your flyaways were more mid to end of the hair, then the heat setting may be better for you.
The flyaway attachment is also really useful, if like me, your hair gets more dry or frizzy on day 2/3 after washing, as it gives it that sleek shine back again and I believe it is giving me an extra day between washes.
The gentle air attachment is also very good if you have a sensitive scalp, I would definitely use this on holiday when head gets sun exposure!
The Styling contractor makes this the best hairdryer I have used for an at-home blow dry with a round brush, as the brush didn't get super hot but also it wasn't blowing the rest of your hair around whilst you focus on each section. Side note: I do also have the Dyson Airwrap (with all attachments) and really recommend that if you want styles with lots of volume/shape and aren't great with blow dry brushes, as it cuts out the need for the brush action etc.
I also found it a nice touch that the packaging is very ‘eco-friendly' and so well designed (as you would expect from this brand). There was not the usual plastic, cellophane and wire wraps that you get in usual electrical good packaging, yet the cardboard design still meant every piece was nicely secured and the box is still strong enough that I will use it to store it all in… although the nice leather storage case is very tempting!
Since having the Supersonic and the Airwrap, I would not buy another dryer or curler. I suppose I just need the Dyson Coralle now to complete the styling set, as other brands honestly don't compare once you have Dyson!
