Happy Little Accidents

I bought these mini chocolate chips on accident once because I didn't look at the packaging carefully. I decided not to return them but to use them in the chocolate chips cookies I was making, making a mental note to be more careful in the future. Happy little accidents do occur as I found out when eating one of those cookies and discovering it was WAY better tasting than using the bigger chocolate chips. Because they are minis, they spread out throughout the cookie dough better and instead of 1 or 2 pieces of chocolate in every bite I was getting a mouthful of chocolate pieces in every bite. Make the effort to try using these mini's at least once before you say no to them.

Chocolate chips

I mostly use the chocolate chips for microwave ganache. Microwave 1/2 bag chocolate chips, 2-3 tbs half and half, 2-3 tbs butter for 30 seconds and stir for up to 1 minute until smooth like pudding. Can be used as hot fudge or a cake or cookie topping. I use the minis because they melt faster.

I have fallen in love with coffee flavored yogurt or ice cream and mini chocolate chips together. Sometimes I add pecans too but not very often. When I mix it together myself rather than buying it already done, I find I tend to eat less. I don't understand why but I do.
