I highly recommend applying this using gloves or even a sandwich bag to keep it off of your hands. Start with it sparingly, as it can get hot... especially if you sweat or take a shower after applying it. it's the hottest rub I can find for joint and tendon pain and works well, but you have to be careful using it. Don't get it on your hands and then touch anything like your eyes, face, or other sensitive areas. Dish soap does a better job washing it off than regularly bar soap by the way, possibly because the pepper that provides the "heat" has an oily base to it. If you need a very warm rub for arthritis or other issues, I do recommend this, albeit with the caveats I mentioned.

The Good Stuff

This stuff is the best at warming and long term relief of arthritic joint pain. Some find it to warm for the skin but you can apply another type liniment cream or oil until your skin gets used to it. I use it religiously, and my wifey uses it after arnica cream or oil both of us get good relief. It requires daily use to control joint pain from arthritis and it works well enough to not need it and forgetting to reapply at least once daily. Hope they never change it, or discontinue this brand and strength.

Heat

I have a love-hate relationship with this product, the heat gets intense which should be helping arthritis. You have to be careful to wash your hands afterwards or you'll scratch your eye and it will get just as much heat there as on your arthritic limbs.
