So far I've caught 3 mice in just a few days. Cleaning this trap can be a challenge since mouse poop can get under the tilting portion. A wire helps to reach inside and knock the poop loose. The first time I caught a mouse in one of these traps I just flushed it out with cold water. I haven't caught another mouse in that trap. The second trap after catching and releasing the mouse I washed it out with hot soapy water, doing so allowed me to catch mice in that trap twice more. I've since washed out the first trap with hot soapy water and have hopes it will be more effective. The only explanation I can come up with is the trapped mouse emits pheromones which stick to the plastic if not washed well. Said trapped pheromones scare off the next mouse to come to the trap. I found peanut butter in the trap to be effective but messy to clean out and switched to pieces of peanut butter and cheese crackers which has worked well and is easier to clean up. Finding it difficult to tell if the trap had tripped when in a dark corner I put a narrow strip of masking tape that doesn't cover the holes on the spring loaded door. This makes it much easier to tell when the trap is tripped. Good luck, Mike
