Got this to control the heating pad in an outdoor cat shelter. This thing is no bigger than a regular AC outlet splitter (thermostatic controls add no extra bulk) and does what it says. The temperatures are fixed and not adjustable, but if you're wanting to keep things from freezing this is an easy and simple way to do it.

This little device helps prevent pipes from freezing during cold spells at our mountain cabin. It comes on at 35 and off at 45. With a small lightbulb plugged into it and placed near sink pipes, negates the need to run the furnace, there by saving tons of money.
