My 600watt mini 6''skillet has a slightly different lid with a plastic knob on the glass but it has a terrific multi range heat setting control. low cycles on and off- but cooks ok. high is very hot and stays on. It cooks crisp bacon-eggs- toasty grilled cheese and can heat or reheat leftovers for 1. Beware the exposed heating element on the bottom needs to be on a heat proof surface to avoid counter damage. The cook surface is easily scratched so use nylon or wood utensils. the cord is short on the easily detached dial control handle. The whole skillet gets very hot so beware fingers and kids around. The price varies a lot here [ $11.-$40. !!] - shop and watch. I paid under $11.00 [3-15-2018] I'll buy another soon as it is reduced again. This is a great gift idea and dorm item. Stay with it to control heat as it can cook fast. The low 600 watt max usage means little chance of tripping a breaker! You can cook and eat right out of the deep bowl if necessary and tiny to store. since my husband passed away last month I've been downsizing things and clutter. No reason to cook big meals. This pan is ideal for everything. Have used it for eggs, sandwiches, even steaming frozen foods. Especially nice feature is the cord locks into place. cleans easily too.
