Family favorite is no longer available

I will forever be sad this is a product Walmart no longer carries, I've seen some comments saying that it's not being manufactured anymore, which would be even more tragic. I have a 17 year old autistic son, and he adores the banquet popcorn chicken, and it was the only frozen chicken product he would consume. on average, I bought five bags per week for over 6 years. there has not been any product that has taken the place of the banquet popcorn chicken, and now there is a giant chicken nugget-shaped hole in his diet and a lack of protein consumption overall. no chicken flavor. weird white spongy material.

Recommended time overcooks them and they are extremely dry. You have to literally undercook them to make them less dry. The nuggets have little black sprinkles on them. I assume this is an effort at seasoning pepper to make them "southern fried" possibly. There is zero pepper or any other seasoning flavor for that matter. The inside is a weird squishy white material. This tastes absolutely nothing like chicken at all. I am not sure why food companies keep making foods that are like this. I expected better from the name brands. Generic brands are actually starting to taste better. I suppose its good for me though because my husband doesn't always want to buy the name brands every time now. It definitely makes us check the things we buy. These are definitely on the will not buy again list.
