Zesty Paws Urinary Tract Bites Chicken Flavor Dog Supplement, 90 Count

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample tub of Senior Advanced Urinary Tract Bites through BzzAgent in exchange for our honest review after we'd had time to try the product. I signed up for this one because I have an older schnauzer. We've noticed that she has to pee often, sometimes overnight (she has emergency pads just for those occasions). The next mornings, I always notice that her pee is really strong-smelling even on charcoal puppy pads, and she was urinating often. Otherwise she didn't seem distressed and the vet hasn't found anything wrong with her. She's just older, it happens to the best of us. I thought she'd make a great candidate for this sample. I didn't even realize there were OTC supplements for dog urinary tract health. The first time I offered my schnauzer diva one of the chews she turned away from me and had a little attitude about it. I said, "Fine, suit yourself" and called over my Golden Retriever who took one sniff of the chew then snarfed it down almost taking my hand with it. I waited a day and offered it again to my Schnauzer. This time she was hesitant, then she gently took it from my hand and ate it. She has some mouth issues (underbite, a healed injury to her tongue from her time in the shelter) so she does have a good reason for being picky. I was very happy that the treat was crumbly and soft, and smelled a bit like Heartguard, which she LOVES. Over the next few days, she started to DEMAND the chews, like treats. On to the results: I don't know exactly what these chews are supposed to do, or how I could measure their effectiveness. What I DO know is that her pee on the puppy pads hasn't had that super-strong smell for the past few days. ALSO, she's going to the bathroom on her emergency pads less often overnight. I think these chews actually work. I didn't expect it to really make a difference. I tried to take photos of the heart-shaped chews & I wanted to crumble one in a video to show how soft they are, but Pepper kept eating them.

I am so happy to have the opportunity to try and review these from the manufacturer, but my opinions are my own. Gracie falls into the 3 heart shaped chews per day category. I just add them to her morning food. She eats them without issue. She had a UTI earlier this year so I am glad to find a product to help fend off any future issues. Very happy with these and will purchase after this batch is finished.
