These Garitin Floating Wall Shelves are very nice looking and well built, especially for the price. The shelves don't leave a lot of room between for tall items. Taller items can only be placed on the top shelf. I used it for smaller sports memorabilia, but small knickknacks or pictures would be ideal for these shelves also. Shelves are thick and sturdy and side brackets are designed to hold well. The only issue I found is with the intended mounting design, specifically the wall mounts. They are mounting pads made of hard plastic with four nail pins in each and a bracket mount screw hole in the middle of each. There are four of these pads included in the mounting kit. It is a unique design which would be great if the nail pins moved freely in there holes, but they don't budge. So, as your hammering these pins, the plastic pad is pushing through the drywall and the pins aren't moving. The only use for these pads would be for mounting in solid wood, not through drywall. So, I improvised and used drilled screw mount holes. Hammered plastic screw mounts into the holes and mounted the shelve brackets using some screws I had through the bracket holes. (see pictures). A slight adjustment with pliers to bend the bracket holes so they were flat to the wall and "voila", the shelves are up! The manufacturer needs to revisit their design and make the appropriate adjustments for sure. Other than that trouble, I am pleased with these Garitin Floating Wall Shelves.
