Great healthy and flavorful for small dogs!

My 2 Chihuahuas are 3 and 16 years old. They are ultra picky and really rely on scent and texture of the kibbles. The kibbles were perfect size for the 11 pound dogs. Luna is 16 and sometimes struggled with dry food but not Small Matters! She inhaled it once in 🥣 bowl, no allergies or runny or hard poops. Highly recommended for a 2 dog household.

High quality

This small breed dog food made a good first impression. My Chihuahua and Jack Russell Terrier mix currently eats Hill's Science Diet Small Breed 7+, and I offered this as a standalone meal to gauge her interest and acceptance. She had no problem eating it and seemed to enjoy it right away. I included photos of her eating the food. The kibble size is appropriate for small dogs and is easy to chew. The lamb and brown rice recipe appears to be made with quality ingredients, and the food itself looks comparable in quality to the premium small breed foods I typically purchase. There was very little dust or broken kibble in the bag, which is always appreciated. Since I have not fully transitioned her to this food, I cannot comment on long term effects or digestive performance. However, based on initial impressions, she accepted it readily and showed the same enthusiasm she does for her regular food. Overall, this appears to be a quality small breed dog food with ingredients and presentation that compare favorably to other premium brands. Based on my dog's response, I would feel comfortable considering it as an alternative or future option.

Tiny, sassy dog approved!

Food has been a bit of a tough adventure with my dog Suzy. When she was a puppy, she ate her puppy kibble with no problems, but when we had to switch into adult food, that's when the struggle began. We have tried multiple rads, and ultimately different textures and forms- a lot of flavors, sometimes a flavor in one food just wont work in another food. Suzy is a bit of a picky eater with her dog food (but is pretty open with the human foods she's not supposed to have, of course). Because of this, I will admit that when I was given the opportunity to try this food from Small Matters, I don't have much confident; but, I was still open to trying it. To my surprise (and delight), Suzy likes it a lot! It's in the lamb flavor, which is a flavor of food I haven't introduced to her before, she usually sticks with chicken, sometimes beef or pork, and rarely ever fish. Suzy is a black-and-white chihuahua, and funnily enough when I was a kid, we had another black-and-white chihuahua who's favorite food was also a lam flavor. It was just sweet remembering that as I saw Suzy enjoying this kibble. As it says, Small Matters is, indeed, for Small Dogs! It's small little kibble bites suitable for those little mouths and little teeth, the pieces are crispy without being just rocks rattling around in their mouths. It's a typical dog food smell, but it's not extreme, I don't smell it when the bowl is sitting near me in a room. It also doesn't leave much of any substance on my hands if I hand-scoop it or have to pick up any stray pieces. The pieces are pretty uniform. I've sometimes mixed this kibble with other foods or treats for Suzy and she eats it all up just fine! The 4lb bag size works great for us, having the one dog who eats a serving each day. Reading the ingredients, it has all the things one would want to target for their dog, covering vitamins and nutrients, , Omega fatty acids, it comfortably digestible, and provides for your dog without any extra filler unnecessary in their little tummies. The first ingredient is the meat it claims, which in my choice is lab. My Suzy has stomach problems, but this food has been no issue for her, and has stably supported her teeth, skin, fur, and nail health. Overall, it's a very good kibble for my dog, and it's also very affordable and accessible.
