If you've got a little ankle-biter doing their schoolwork, or you just want to protect your nice leather armchair from a spilled mug of billy tea, it's a fair dinkum piece of kit.

Now, when I'm out tracking in the Kakadu, my desk is a flat rock and my pen is a sharp stick in the red dirt. But someone just handed me this fancy bit of gear, and I had to scratch my head for a second. It's a mat of some sort, covered head to toe in these little stubby orange pencils and scribbles. Looks like a mob of primary schoolers went walkabout all over it! I gave it a good feel, and I'll tell ya what, it's actually a tough little hide. It's got some heavy-duty stitching down the sides and feels thick enough to stop a thorny devil from poking through. I reckon it's meant for the folks in the big smoke to put under their paperwork—stops you from gouging up your nice timber table when you're writing too hard. Out in the bush, I suppose you could use it to keep the mud off your truck seats, or maybe string it up as a makeshift tarp if a sudden squall hits. Though, I admit, you might look a bit of a galah hiding from the rain under a giant picture of pink erasers.

Cute, durable, and perfect for protecting a desk during crafts and art projects!

The Pen+Gear desk mat turned out to be a great addition to my daughter's craft area. She really loves that is reversible with two different designs, so she can change the look whenever she wants. The mag is thick, durable, and stays in place without sliding around on the desk. Even after regular daily use for crafts and drawing, it still looks great and does not show much wear. Most importantly, it protects the table surface very well from glue, markers , paint , and other craft supplies. The colourful design is cute and fun, and my daughter was excited to use it for her crafts and DIY projects. Overall, this is a practical and very useful desk mat for kids who love being creative.

🫶🏼SO VERSATILE🫶🏼

Well, like I said in the video, I kind of am obsessed with this mat!!! Actually did test to see how easy it is to remove marks. I used a raspberry Crayola washable marker, a light blue dry erase marker & a silver sharpie. AND it actually is easy to wipe off (now I'm gonna be honest with you. I just did like a little mark on the mat) and I used my Clorox disinfecting wipes at first which got out the washable marker and dry, erase marker and the sharpie… but you could still see the marks very very faintly so I just took a magic sponge and wiped it across & BAM! GONE!! If anyone has any questions or would like to see pictures or a video of me making the marks on the mat and showing how easy it is to clean it, I am absolutely down!! 🤘🏼THANK YOUUU🤘🏼
