why would you powder coat carbon steel. in the pictures I thought it was preseason but it was actually black powder coat. got to use an angle grinder to bust off the powder coat. I bought it to replace a flat top griddle that came with the ceramic coated iron. the metal is pretty thin around 2 mm. but it is carbon steel when he did it turned into that gorgeous turquoise blue color. had to buy some carbon steel bolts to make standoff. but after modifications this day is terrific. retains heat really well..
