I'm not a bot or paid for this review, I can prove this by saying my grandma has stinky feet. This filter is priced right and works great. I have had issues with other Amazon filters with the ice maker function. Zero issues with this filter and notice immediate difference in taste.

Affordable Replacement!

Was a perfect replacement for the original Whirlpool Water Filter 1. Did not experience any leaks or difference in taste of water compared to the original. Will be buying these only moving forward.

Good alternative but you should know that

At $19 compared to the $50 OEM filter, it's good to know consumers have a budget-friendly store-branded option. Yes, the OEM filter is EveryDrop-branded and that adds to its cost, but what you may be overlooking is the NSF certifications such as 42 (clorine/taste/odor), 53 (lead/mercury/VOCs), and 401 (prescription drugs/pesticides/BPA). This GV filter is NSF 42 and 53 certified but not 401 certified while the EveryDrop filter is certified for all three 42, 53, and 401. So, if you care enough about not having pharmaceuticals in your water, then you'd want a filter that meets NSF 401. I only recently discovered that Walmart offered this GV replacement filter so I looked around and discovered that Home Depot also offers a store brand (HDX) replacement filter as well. The HDX standard is $20 but it is only NSF 42 certified so the GV filter offers better filtration at the same cost. HD also has the HDX premium version for $40 (or a $60 two pack) and its certifications are the same as EveryDrop (42, 53, 401) so it's more of an apples-to-apples comparison when looking at cost. But you should read through the reviews and make up your own mind as some have reported compatibility issues; one issue being the shape of the bottom end. On the surface, $19 vs $50 seems like a no-brainer but it isn't necessarily an apples-to-apples comp, especially if you DO care about NSF 401. But if you're good with just NSF 42 and 53, then I think this GV filter is the one to buy.
