So first off, I have four cats. I bought two of the machines to offset having to scoop as much. The trays last me about 2 weeks. Which I think is pretty reasonable.

Superior Litter System

The PetSafe crystal litter system is far superior to the corn cob or clay type boxes I used before discovering this product. It is less messy, lasts longer between changes, better at controlling odors and all-around does a fine job in a messy business. The packs are very convenient. I have refillable permanent boxes also but I haven't yet run a cost-benefit analysis (it must save some $). I highly recommend this entire line of litter box products. I have three automatic boxes for my six kitties and have no plans to go back to the messy systems of old.
