Convenient, fresh orange flavor
I received this product for free from McCormick via BzzAgent in exchange for my honest opinion. I'm so grateful that I was given the opportunity to try this ingredient, as it's not one that I would have typically used before now. I'll definitely be keeping this one in my spice pantry, as it actually has a wide variety of uses and provides incredible flavor! I tested it by adding it to a marinade for a Caribbean-style pork roast, which turned out amazing! The orange peel packs an intense, fresh orange flavor and does not have the bitterness I sometimes find in fresh orange zest. I already have plans to use this in scones and muffins, and I'm sure it would be a welcome addition to citrusy Asian dishes. I definitely recommend this product to those who love to cook and are looking to add to an assortment of flavors!
That citrus hit is 🔥
I used this on salmon and some fresh veggies and I ain't even gonna lie—it added a nice little citrus kick. Not too strong, just enough to make everything taste fresh and flavorful. I mixed it into my seasoning for the salmon and it gave it a light sweet-zesty taste, and on the veggies it just made everything pop a little more. Super easy way to upgrade a basic meal.
Flavor and Convenience
I LOVE the McCormick Gourmet Valencia Orange Peel, in the1.5 ounce bottle, that I got for free in exchange for writing this honest review. Having a spice bottle of these lovely orange peels, on hand, in my spice pantry, brings convenience and joy. I love to cook for my family, and I love to introduce them to a variety of cuisines. McCormick Gourmet Valencia Orange Peel, is perfect to use in many baking sweets and desserts, but I cannot overlook the flavor it brings to savory dishes, like my homeade Chinese Style Orange Chicken. I prefer using McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Valencia Orange Peel, because it does not have the bitterness found in fresh fruit peeling, and I even sprinkle extra on top as an added garnish. It saves her time and money by not having to purchase and grate orange peels. The flavor is slightly sweet and orange in nature. I plan to use it in hot teas, soups. sauces, and many other recipes in the future, but my Orange Chicken recipe has already been added to by family's monthly menu by popular command. I highly recommend McCormick Gourmetâ„¢ Valencia Orange Peel, for amazing flavor and convenience.
