Excellent General Purpose Fertilizer

Not much to say about a plain ol' bag of fertilizer, but this bag of 5‑10‑5 is a solid general purpose choice I've used on vegetables, flowers, and shrubs with good results. Walmart's price on this 40lb bag is excellent compared to other stores. One note for beginners: granular fertilizers like this aren't suitable for containers and can burn plants, so if you're container gardening, look for a product formulated specifically for pots.

Quick and easy to use

This is a course product, good for longer-term feeding. The ingredients are good and easy to use. I'm charging my biochar for seedlings and I add this to my compost. During the season I keep a water bucket with some of this added. The dissolved product gets to roots faster, but some mixed with soil or cour on top is good too.

I have used this formulation mixed with composted cow manure around rose and vegetable plants. Seems to work as well for me as more expensive fertilizer mixtures . For prices these days it is relatively economical. Nothing special about it but good enough.
