Needs recalled

This washer needs recalled. Whirlpool needs to fix the issue. Like so many other reviews, I also have a washer that is maybe 1-2 years old that gets stuck in drain mode. It will intermittently try to drain nothing for hours after a cycle. Unplugging is the only way to stop it. Sometimes it even makes the drain noise as soon as I plug it back in. Usually, I can convince it to start a new load but occasionally it doesn't respond to dials or button. I can't trust it when not here to watch it. I am scared it will catch on fire or electrocute me while unplugging. My last washer was 15-20 years old and still worked when we replaced it to match dryer. This is very frustrating!

Bad experience

This washer came with my new home and I had problems from day one. Long story short I managed to live with it for 18 months by loosely filling it up with clothes to the top of the tub holes and running it on bulky setting and deep water fill. Now 18 months later the machine started making running noises after completing the cycle even with the door open. I unplugged it, reset the machine, and recalibrated it twice. I give up and bought another brand today. I had a Kenmore (made by Whirlpool) for over 20 years - I can't believe this one lasted less than two. Very disappointed

Not reliable

Broke down after 14 months. Had to buy an extended warranty to fix it, one that cost almost as much as I paid for the machine. To make matters worse the part they needed to fix it was on backorder. So could be weeks without a washer. We bought this because the Whirlpool washer that this one replaced lasted a decade with no problems. We didn't want all the bells and whistles and so we bought this model. We didn't need the most expensive model. But we did expect a reliable machine. We didn't get one. We wouldn't buy this one again.

We’re very sorry to hear of your Washer concerns. As you mentioned, you are currently under an extended warranty. In purchasing extended service coverage, you are contracting with and delegating authority to that provider in lieu of the manufacturer. You will want to review your contract and discuss your options further with the plan administrator that holds your contract as they will be able to provide you with the best assistance possible.
