Awsome garage bench

As with the other review our first one arrived in horrible shape. Tie snapped, h-ware bags were all torn open and bolts were everywhere, seat was torn. Contacted Body solid they sent us a new one that arrived in great shape. We have found that this bench does everything it says it will and is built very well. Unlike the other post, (to each their own) I found that squats were very easily performed on this bench. Military press two is good, though the uprights get in the way at times. Leg tool is great and we also got the preacher attachment which is also great.

Versitile, well built bench - but...

This is a very well built bench. Thick padding, solid construction, etc. However, mine arrived slightly bent, but I was able to fix. Shipping tie-downs snapped. WRT design, some sites (not Sams) say this will also allow you to do squats, but very dubious as uprights are verticle, not slanted as one would expect for squats. I found it very awkward. Also, incline presses tricky as there are only two horizontal backpad support positions. The higher puts the barbell behind the head (bad starting position), the lower creates so much backpad leverage that I was afraid the backpad would snap if I use it for inclines. Leg unit is great. Finally, too many actions required to adjust seat position - unscrew, unscrew, pull, push - watch for snags on protruding bolts! I only have two hands! Summary, will last forever, but engineering gets a C grade.
