Winsor & Newton Series 7 Miniature Painting Brush, 2/0

These Winsor and Newton Series 7 brushes are the Rolls Royce of watercolour brushes. The quality of this brush is outstanding. I used to use several brushes at a time and was always frantically reaching for the right one. The Series 7 brush has a deep belly and holds a big load of pigment and water. It then tapers to the most magical sharp point. You can make the transition from broad painterly stokes, to adding tiny little touches, all with the same brush. I spent hours researching prices on the internet and Jerry's are the cheapest. If you have ever thought of buying one of these brushes and hesitated because they are expensive, just buy it! You will not regret it. I cannot say I have mastered watercolour painting but this brush has given me the single biggest boost towards achieving paintings I am happy with.

I use this brush (size 2) more than any other. I've been a full-time photo-realist watercolor painter for the past 25 years and this brush is part of my success. It has a great point for almost all my fine detail (I'll use a size 0 or 1 occasionally)but it still holds a lot of paint for medium sized washes. If you think watercolor can't be controlled, than you haven't been using the right brush-this is that brush.
