Eastwood Macpherson Strut and Coil Spring Compressor

This tool made compressing springs in my Jeep actually enjoyable! This tool is just like the demo video shows. It is much faster and safer compared to the “stick” type compressors. This tool compressed the spring evenly in one smooth and easy motion. The tool has a solid feel and heft to it building your confidence whenever that spring compresses. The plastic covers also prevent marring of the finish on the coil spring which is a plus. Another benefit of this product over the “sticks” is that the tool is more compact and doesn't get in the way of other suspension components whenever you are inserting or extracting the coil spring. I won't use any other compressor after using these. The only con I can think of is the compressor is rather large and heavy. So, if you are are trying to carry this tool everywhere as part of a mobile kit, the “stick” compressors would work better. FYI this product is made in China.

I have 2 other coil springs compressors. Have never felt comfortable with either but they allowed me to replace shocks on my own rather than paying someone else. They would not work on my E Type rear suspension. I wish I had discovered the Eastwood McPherson spring compressors first, I would only have one tool and lots more hair!!
