30 KW

Was toying with a cheaper 24kw unit instead of the 30kw. The 30kw covered the whole house plus pool whereas the 24 needed to have certain loads taken off. Auto exercises and seems to work like a champ.

Comes on when the power goes out!

I live in TX where spring storms and sever winters can knock out power. On May 5th a lightning strike took out my power, in the past that would be a huge problem but not this time. Within a minute my Generac generator automatically kicked in and brought the power back on!

This generator will do the job done in a normal size home

The location of the Auxiliary Shutdown switch makes it very easy to accidently turn the generator off. A simple fix was to place a guard around the switch. Locating the power wires for the MLG Module was a nightmare. They were bundled with and behind another wiring harness next to the actual generator. They should be placed next to the battery box where they are to be connected. The recommended 5/8" mounting bolts will not fit through the holes in the frame. I had to use 1/2" bolts. I haven't had too actually use the generator yet. However, when the technician removed the utility power, the generator started and restored power in less than 10 seconds. We loaded it with two Heat pump units*, two electric water heaters, the oven, other appliances and normal lighting without any problem; and plenty of power to spare. * I did have the emergency supplemental electric heat strips in my large heat pump changed to propane because they consume a very large amount of power.
