Ernesto deserves a raise!

Although there were issues with the unit, the APC rep clearly explained to me how this happened, and I understand. Nobody's fault, but I'm glad APC had this covered.

Excellent quality

I have a Dell Studio XPS 435T/9000, and because of its 'unique' power supply, requires a pure sine wave output on battery backup. I've had all kinds of APC UPS products, but they all had stepped up sine wave output, so I had to purchase this model. It works perfectly (as has every other APC product I've ever had). Many options and some require reading a page or two of the manual. Once everything is setup, you never have to worry about it again.

APC Smart UPS 1500 VA Rac/tower

I traded my UPS 1000 for the 1500 VA to consolidated all my UPSs in one "box." I also had two UPS 800s. Pros: it works, it's quiet (unless it encounters a spike, then it makes a "bonk" noise) good documentation, good customer support for the first few days after you buy it Cons: If you have more than one computer, you've got to buy the network card; pricesfor the 1500 and the card are a bit high for a pro-sumer user; I discovered that it's cheaper to buy the system from your local computer store
