Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner and Disinfectant, 12 fl oz, 1 Pack

I can't say enough good things about Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner and Disinfectant. I tried everything to eliminate the odor coming from my garbage disposal, including buying a new disposal unit. I was thrilled to discover Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner. I could have saved a lot of money, frustration, and time if I had learned about it earlier. Take it from me, Glisten truly works. I'll always keep a bottle in my kitchen.

Used this in my really old dishwasher because it had been developing an orange film on the bottom that's hard to clean off by hand, since kneeling down and reaching into the dishwasher to scrub it out is painful when you're an old person. The dishwasher doesn't have a filter so food residue and grease feeds the orange gunk. I placed this bottle of cleaner in the utensil rack of the empty dishwasher and before I started the dishwasher, I ran the hot water in the sink until it reached it's hottest temperature so that it would melt the wax plug in the bottle to release the cleaner and let it run through the longest cycle. (I never use the heated dry.) I was so happy when I opened the dishwasher after the cycle and found that the great majority of the orange area was clean. There was still a thin ring of orange around the edge of the area where there's water in the bottom (there's always some water in the bottom to prevent a seal down there from drying out and leaking), but I easily wiped that off with a throw away rag. This cleaner also removes hard water residue and coffee stains. The orange gunk takes a few months to return, so I plan to keep using this cleaner as needed to keep it away.
