It works great for "small" phones. I had one with my iphone 13 and is great. Got one for my wife's pixel 7 pro and her phone is bigger and wasn't able to charge it. When you turn on the car, it opens, when you put your phone on it it closes automatically, and when you turn off the car it opens automatically. It's great

When we first got this we were unsure how to loosen the grip so that we can place our phones on to charge. We were trying to press the lower sides where it says the release buttons are but did not realize that we had to have it plugged in to open it. It easily opened on its own and we were able to secure the phone. It held tight and we didn't have to worry about the phone falling off to the floor like with our old vent phone hold. It charges well and as soon as you put it on it starts charging. It doesn't have the option to remove the cord and use a different one to plug into the cigarette port so you'd have to be extra careful not to damage that or the whole device will be useless. It looks nice in our truck. My phone has a case and I remove it but it works perfectly with my husband's without a case.
