It is hard to find these with a long enough cord, but this one has a 12-foot cord, making it versatile in environments that do not have many outlets, such as older homes and apartments and perhaps places like dorm rooms. I use this power strip for a home recording studio. I needed a strip that had RFI/EMI filtering as well as surge protection and a long cord. The filter is eliminating many pops and cracks such as when my refrigerator or AC unit turns off. I have 6 TRIPP-LITE power devices and have found them to be extremely reliable as well as nearly bullet-proof. I don't buy low quality power strips and similar products because many of them have poor contacts and will loosen up quickly. I have experienced this a number of times in the past. This can lead to overheating which leads to more loosening. The cycle repeats. It can & will lead to fire if going unchecked. I have many friends who come to me for electrical & electronic advice. I ALWAYS recommend TRIPP-LITE products as they are simply the best that money can buy.
