What happened to the “original” scent?

I have bought 3 different bottles of what I thought was Dawn Original in search of the original fragrance. The new version is horrible. It is overpowering and unpleasant. Why did you change it? Kind of like Coke when they changed the formula, P&G needs to go back to the original scent (or better yet, no scent!) The soap works fine, but I will be looking for an alternative. The new scent is a deal breaker!

We can assure you that a lot of thought goes into creating features that we think you'll like, and this fragrance change was implemented after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. As well, we'd like to mention that we updated the scent for our Dawn Original back in February 2024, so it's unlikely that you'd still be able to find the previous scent in stores. NEW SCENT SMELLS HORRIBLE! Signed, Ex-customer

The new scent is unbearable! I've been using Dawn blue for years to clean my dishes and CPAP tubing, but the smell of the new one is HORRIBLE! It lingers -- even on my hands -- and it's just awful! I'm definitely switching to a different brand. 💯 Signed, Ex Customer Hopefully enough people will complain and Proctor and Gamble will STOP MAKING IT!

Horrible new scent - bring back well-loved scent!

I have exclusively used and loved Dawn Original scent dish detergent for OVER 40 YEARS, of which I usually keep a large stock on hand so I never run out. I recently purchased 10 bottles of the very large 38 oz. bottles to refill my shelf (a 3-year supply). When I used the last of my older stock yesterday, I opened one of the new bottles and I expected the gentle scent I've been used to all these years. I was absolutely horrified when I smelled this new scent, like a strong chemical smell!! Why in the world would P&G mess around with a well-loved product? When you introduced your Power Wash, I purchased 2 bottles and used it only once because I couldn't stand the smell. Now you ruined your best selling product with this same strong scent! Read the HONEST reviews of those of us who have been your loyal customers and made you #1 (NOT reviews of those influenced by free products!) I beg of you, please bring back the scent we have loved for so many years! Cracker Barrel listened to their valued customers, and now YOU should, too!!
