I used to waste money on the liquid dish soaps. They're full of harsh degreasers and very drying. Zote is super cheap and (more?) effective. The smell is great and it works fantastic. Liquid soap would last me a few weeks or a month. A bar of Zote, resting on a green scrubbypad lasts me at *least* three months. A big cost savings. I like everything about it more than the harsh liquid soaps.

The washer had broken down and while waiting for the delivery of a new washing machine i needed laundry detergent that would be gentle on my skin as i hand washed clothing. Found this Zote laundry bar soap at Walmart and upon first use was surprised it did not irritate my skin as i washed my delicate garments. I also noticed my garments looked and felt cleaner, even softer without using laundry softener. Light stains came out of delicate whites easily with handwashing. The reason for this could also be that scrubbing each garment individually gets clothing cleaner than tossing a bunch of clothes in a washing machine. Noticeable too, was the dirt that came out of heavier cotton clothing. Clothing colors seemed brighter after drying. The soap will turn your wash water milky white. You will see the milky color turn dirty as you wash your clothes. On a cautionary note some clothing (color red, blue, purple, yellow) will bleed even with gentle handwashing. I too, found this product to be of better quality than that of an equal competitors product and comparably priced as well.
