I ordered this product to help my wife feel more secure during a recent backpacking trip in a national park. We saw several black bears - some grazing not more than 100 yards from our campsite, but fortunately had no cause to use this product. I will say that the hip holster addition is worth the extra cost. Another person in our group ordered the version without and it was really nice to be able to attach our can to the hip belt of my wife's pack.

Everything that I see and hear about this product is positive. The price is fair. On-line videos give good instruction and I suggest they be viewed carefully (view several). The product seems to be of quality construction. Like all forms of insurance, I hope I never have to use it. However, it does give some sense of possibly saving life if the worst (bear attack) happens.
