This is a very good timer. You have the flexibility of separate on/off settings through the day which can be handy. The manual swithe is also in a very convenient location. NOTE: All of the pins are in the down position. It is easier to raise all the pins and then push down the times you want the switch to be on.

I was looking for a timer to use with my jerky maker that would allow me to dry my jerky into the night and shut off on its own. My last jerky maker had a built in timer but broke. The replacement one did not have a timer and getting up in the middle of the night to turn it off was something I didn't want to do. This handy timer allows me to start my jerky whenever I want and is easy to set it for a specific amount of time. Only used it twice since I bought it but it does what I had hoped for and I'm pleased with the product so far!

It's so nice to be able to "program" lamp timer without having to get a certificate in electronics programming. Just push the pins in or pull them out, in 1/2 hour increments, for turning the lamp or appliance on and off. Very mechanical = easy-to-use and very dependable. I bought 2 and my turtle is very happy that his UV light & basking light go on and off at dependable hours.
