Worth the cost!

Very pricey BUT very worth it for 3 pretty big reasons: 1. We have a bear that wanders by sometimes, he knocks down our poles and destroys our feeders, except for this one -- the only one that survives the wreckage. 2. The cage on this feeder lets in the small birds and keeps out the big ones that gobble up all the seed and fruit. 3. The big hopper means we don't have to fill it daily.

Squirrel Resistant

We donated one to a Natural area and so far all the squirrels can do is stick their small paws into the cage getting the seed that is lying on the bottom of the feeder. I would have liked to have seen this feeder floor a mesh not a solid bottom. This would have allow any seed that fell out of the feeding area to wind up on the ground allowing the larger birds and the squirrels some of the seed to eat.

Not Rodent proof. Owned this feeder quite some time now and a rodent got into the feeder attacking the tube and the feeding ports. I am having a hard time trying to replace them
