May not be for everyone but I'm very satisfied with it. Best feature is the wide 2-point table clamp. The grinder has not twisted or come loose during several hours of use as every single clamp grinder I've used in the past has done. I highly recommend it with a couple of caveats - the finer the grind setting the harder it is to turn the crank, and overall the practice of milling your own flour is quite time consuming. If you aren't fond of a good cardio workout this might not be the device for you. The time considerations include the delays caused by drying the grain after washing it prior to grinding and frequent rest breaks while cranking. The manual says you can coarse grind first, then run it thru again for finer flour. True, it turns MUCH easier and is faster overall but the auger has trouble picking up the coarse flour and requires continual tamping of the grain hopper. Practice helps, I've gone from an hour to get 2 cups of flour to about 15 minutes (down from an hour) for all purpose flour grind in a single pass but really fine pastry flour is pretty stiff going. Rice easy to grind, whole corn is hard going, the barley I mostly use is not too bad at all. RE: value for price - quality is excellent and compared to other offerings the price is reasonable, I simply feel that everything costs more than it ought to!

It is a lot of cranking for a few cups of very fine flour. I actually bought this to make my own peanut butter with using different nuts. I will invest in the drill bit to make it easier because I already have the drill. I am glade I bought this.
