Grand daughter is 11 and hates buttons so these work perfectly. No inside buttons either to adjust the waist. The belt loops all the way around are also something that you can't find elsewhere. Just wish for the sizing they would list the length of the inseam. Had to return size 12 as too short and then size up to 14 which made waist a little big.
