The Straps Are Sewn on Incorrectly

The straps on this dress are a big problem. I wondered at the reviews that said the wearer wore the dress sideways, with the seam in front, and thought that was weird. Now I know what was wrong: the straps are sewn on the dress in the wrong places. The straps are spaced too close together in the front and back, and if you rotate the dress 90 degrees, the straps are too far apart compared to normal. Other than the seams, this dress has no obvious front or back (and no inner tag on the back); it's just a tube, so you can easily rotate it 90 degrees to try to make the straps look better. It just looks terrible to do that since the seam is then in the front and back and the pattern doesn't match well. My daughter wanted this dress for a photo shoot so she and her girls could be dressed alike, so for a dress that will be worn a very short amount of time I won't go to the trouble of taking the straps off and sewing them back on. That's far more trouble than it's worth, but it would make the dress look more normal. A workaround might be to tie the front straps around the neck (the dress has plenty of elastic to keep the dress up by itself) and cut off the ones in the back. It's a shame more care wasn't taken in sewing this dress, because the dress is cute.
