NETGEAR - Nighthawk AX2700 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem + WiFi 6 Router, 2.7Gbps (CAX30S)

Most of the things I found annoying or slightly lacking about our previous Netgear DOCIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router have been refined, and function much more smoothly than the previous Modem. This was a necessary change to allow us to go from 150-180 Mbps to consistently over 500 Mbps. So all-in-all I am pleased with the results of this upgrade. The only negative is that the Nighthawk setup/security app is a subscription package, and they want to hook you with a 90 day trial. Plus the app is only a mobile app, so you can't do the same functions from a PC console - that's a negative. Netgear Genie is still there, but functions differently and it's a resource hog - not a positive. I really think that bundling a software application with a hardware item should not require a subscription at this price point.

I have 2 single floor 5 BR beach rental condo's, one above the other. Each is 1800 Sq Ft. I was able to drop from having a separate internet account for each unit to just one covering both units by using this cable modem/router. This saves me a bunch of money. I had decent coverage at all points in both units and was able to stream from 12 smart TVs in the 2 units simultaneously (pretty amazing), but decided to add 2 EAX15 Netgear wifi extenders anyway just to ensure the signal was super strong at all points. Those were pretty easy to set up and also work great.
