Whynter ARC-110WD 6500 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Dual Hose

I chose my Whynter ARC-110WD 11,000 portable AC for a few reasons. I like the dual hose system. I liked the name and it fit my budget. I like that it is also a dehumidifier as it cools it expels most of the moisture out with the exhaust. My Whynter will be sitting on carpet so I purchased a silicone tray and lined it with a puppy pad to catch any dribbles that might occur when I drained out what might have amounted to ¼ cup of water once a week. I also purchased a black insulating sleeve for the exhaust hose that helps reduce the amount of heat that is sent back into a space that has just been cooled. I put a second sleeve on the intake hose. My AC looks like it's wearing pants. After using this unit for about a month in a 240 sq ft living/office space, I have purchased a second Whynter portable AC unit for the bedroom so I don't have to move 1 back and forth day/night. They will become part of the household as they will be expected to do their chores 6 months of the year due all my very tall windows facing the afternoon sun and it is impossible to keep my space cool. I further chose to go with portable AC's for the ease of setting them up without additional help needing to balance an expensive, 60lb piece of machinery on the ledge of a window 2 stories about the sidewalk below. I also prefer not to see window units hanging outside my home. Maybe one day someone will come up with a “pretty” window ac unit.
