The all-around best primer!

Zinsser Cover Stain has been my go to primer for over two decades restoring old houses. It always provides dependable results, especially on stains of almost any kind on almost every substate and is fantastic for priming woods that have high tannin characteristics. It's oil-based and any topcoat can be applied interior and exterior. It's the best all-around primer money can buy!

This is the best primer to cover dark paneling that has never had paint before. One coat was all that was needed because it is very thick, not watery.

Coverage was great. It came as 4 one quart cans instead of 1 gallon can as mentioned on the website. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars. All 4 cans also did not come at one time they came a week apart so at 1st I thought I got duped but the other 2 did eventually come.
