Who makes a popcorn popper that melts itself?

Got this as a present, On the first use I noticed the top beginning to bubble and melt. After 3 uses the top deformed. You would think something like this would show it in testing. Very bad.

Top melts

Same as other reviews. The butter top melts and the cover became brittle and broke within a year. I would have bought a replacement cover, but they charge nearly as much as a new machine. Wasteful business practice :(

Got this for Christmas last year used twice and top melted can't use without a top !! Will have to throw away
