Our 3/8-inch (10mm) thick multi-purpose mats are the perfect mats for so many applications, it's not possible to list them all! How can a single mat be so versatile? Thanks to its thickness, closed cell EVA composition, lightweight portability, and easy, interlocking installation and maintenance, the 3/8-inch mats can be used for everything from floor covering to wall covering to cosplay design and even blocking for knitting projects.

Available in 17 vibrant colors and pack sizes ranging from 24 to 240 square feet, our 3/8-inch multi-purpose mats interlock with each other with puzzle-like tabs for a secure fit. No professional installation is required. You can often install your mats in just minutes. Applied over any hard surface (not carpet), the mats will stay connected and in place so slips and spills are minimized. The packs of tiles come with border pieces to provide a smooth, finished look, and because the tiles are easily trimmed with a sharp knife or scissors, wall-to-wall installation is simple and precise.

The physical properties of closed-cell EVA foam makes the mats water- and stain-resistant, so you can use them in areas that may need a vapor barrier or where spills are likely to occur. Damp basements, garages, even under sleeping bags in tents are great places to use the 3/8-inch mats. Toss a few under your child's high chair or beneath the craft table and clean-up is much less stressful. It's easier to wipe finger paint off an EVA mat than to get it out of a carpet!

Speaking of kids, the multi-purpose mats make great additions to kids' bedrooms and create soft, safe, and easily maintained play areas. Mix a couple of colors for a fun patterned look or stick with a single color to match your existing decor. They're so easy to install, your kids may even have fun helping to create their new floor! While we typically recommend 1/2-inch or thicker mats for exercise areas (also available from We Sell Mats), home gyms can benefit from the 3/8-inch mats for low-impact workouts like pilates or yoga. Heavy equipment like weight machines and treadmills can leave indentations in the mats, so a thicker mat would be a better choice if your workout utilizes such equipment. High-impact workouts can cause slippage on some surfaces, so connecting the undersides of the mats with carpet tape can add security if you choose the 3/8-inch mats.

Note: high-heeled shoes and other sharp objects may puncture or tear the mats, so we recommend installing the mats in areas where this kind of traffic will not occur.
