APC Back-UPS Pro 1000 - UPS - 600 Watt - 1000 VA

I am a tech with 17 years of experience. I only use APC. While this unit does not provide a perfect sine wave, 99.9% of uses are fine. The more expensive $300 and up APCs do provide perfect AC replication but are nonessential in all but the most critical apps. OK, enough GEEK talk, Pros 1. Great for entertainment systems and PCs in power shaky Rural areas. 2. Keep your maximum power draw under 500watts on this. 3. Easy to change drop in battery pack with slide in sockets. 4. included software auto shuts down your PC and system without much trouble. 5. Has built in display for watts being used along with other useful info. Cons Why do they bother with surge only outlets on backups? Also master-on outlets which can be configured to cut power when a TV or PC is shut off are confusing and should remain a switchable option. I resolve this by putting a standard surge protector on the master outlet providing plenty of fully backed up sockets. May not be big enough for gaming PCs with newer video cards. I would go with the 1500 if you have a large system. Remember just because you use a 1200watt psu doesn't mean your actually drawing that much juice.
