BOSTITCH BTFP72327 " NPT(M) Turn Ball Drain Valve

This drain valve is superior to the old style petcock or twist drain on compressors. One little flick of the valve handle and you can drain the tank. Wish I had this all these years. Well worth the money. Do yourself a favor and replace your old drain valve, you will be glad you did.

My original air compressor tank valve was a round knurled nut. Since it was under the tank it was already hard to get access to twist it open. The Bostitch drain valve is much EASIER to operate with only a quarter of a turn with a lever handle even though it is still in a difficult to access location. The valve has been able to hold a 140 psi pressure for over a week, yet release the pressure quickly with a quarter of a turn of the lever handle on the valve. Installation was easy with only a wrench to remove the old valve and another wrench to twist in the Bostitch valve, literally a 5 minute operation. I do hope it lasts for the test of time. The price may be higher for a 1/4 turn ball valve (over twist open valves), but the ease of operation over time makes it well worth the investment.
