Good disposal for the price

The disposal works just fine. A little problem with the installation. You definitely need some petroleum jelly to put it together. Other than that it fine.

Smart purchase for a mundane appliance

This disposal replaced a 23+ yr. one that finally wore out (brushes, I think). Since it was a GE brand I figured to go after one form the same company. The new one is much quieter and seems to have a stronger motor (amazing how improved a product can be after 23+ yrs. of technology innovations). If I had any complaint (it is more of a nit) is that it has a slightly smaller capacity than the one it replaced. No biggie. Also did the replacement myself and the installation instructions were easy to follow. The instructions suggest adding petroleum jelly (ugh!) or a drop of liquid soap to the mounting ears to ease installation of the disposer. I would also add that rubbing water around the top of the disposer and the underside of the sealing rubber cushion mount gasket (located at the bottom of the sink mount assembly). This will make it much easier to secure the disposer to the sink with the mounting ring.
