Ice seems so archaic now!
Been running my fridge full time in my truck with the assistance of the PLB40 battery which takes over when the truck is turned off. A couple things I didn't know would be so great about a 12v dometic cooler: 1st off I didn't realize how big of a hassle it was buying, draining, and monitoring ice. It's always cold and dry inside my fridge. No more floating egg cartons or soggy cheese! 2nd, you have so much more space inside with the same footprint as a traditional cooler which needs to be filled 50% or more with ice. The Dometic seems bottomless! Experience has been great so far, reliable, quiet, intuitive user interface.

Excellent
Love the design and efficient use of space. I chose this to replace my 40L Engel drop-in when it died and couldn't be happier. I thought I'd have to lose capacity with a new fridge but instead I gained 3 liters. Always stays right on temp and uses less power. I didn't buy it for the AC or the freezer functionality but recently found it a lifesaver to be able to take it out of the van and plug it in inside the house as a freezer during an extended stay with family. Highly recommended.
