More uses than just powering down computers.

I live in an old house with questionable electrical wiring. With the exception of some lamps, I use multiple APC UPS's to buffer all my electronics from power surges and spikes as well as filter out "power noise". When the batteries go bad, I purchase a new one and take the onld one in for recycling. Easy peasy :-)

We don't lose power as much as we used to but the equipment I have connected to them is vital to my entertainment happiness and I really struggle to bring them back online if they go down.
