Works as advertised

Use this to clear heavy weeds on my lot that is covered with debris after flooding since it wouldn't be practical to get a mower through it. Faster than a string trimmer and less hassle. Requires no fuel and silent, so can be used at any hour without disturbing neighbors. Product itself is well made, heavy duty enough for thick brush and easier to control than a Y-shaped one. Some of the other reviews cite it not being sharp enough out of the box, but this type of blade is self-sharpening, it becomes sharper with use so needs to be broken in. However I found it to work well regardless, and as good or better than any other grass whip I have used (have experience with them.) I cannot testify how it works on short grass since I only use it for brush but I would expect it to function like any grass whip for that. They do require a certain level of skill and strength to use effectively, but this one makes it easy being lightweight, easy to control and rugged. Would not hesitate to recommend it or buy another for my own use.

Good tool need better directions.

I like this. It came with LocTite but no instructions on where to put it. Turns out to be needed on the handle as well as the blade nuts. Good but not great.
