Housing gospel, praise and worship, and pop-flavored CCM tracks under one roof, as this latest installment in the WOW Gospel series does here, leads to a varied, eclectic, and surprisingly secular sounding collection of the best worship songs from 2009. Ranging from straight gospel to joyous dance tracks, these annual sets could almost pass for an urban radio station at rush hour, although the underlying positive and spiritual tone of each of these songs unites them, and although they may sound secular, each has its eye on transcendence.
