This is the second vornado fan we have had and they have both been very satisfactory. We particularly like their silence since we use it all the time to circulate air in our house. The only feature I would like to have added is to have them start upagain on their own when the electric grid goes down and then restarts. Since our fan is on a high shelf, it means getting out the ladder to turn it on again. The old one ran for about 8 years, non-stop (except for grid outages) but then the lower bearing went dry. When dissassembled and regreased, it started running again.

I recently bought two of these and just love them. Now let's see how long they last. They really do move the air and are quiet enough to hear the tv or have a conversation. I also bought a smaller one. I intent to buy a couple more. They were actually cheaper buying through the manufacture.
